Availablility During Shelter in Place

Our Reopening Plan:

We’ve started Pre-Phase 1 of reopening the clinic.  Therapeutic massage services are now available for clients who have a doctor’s prescription.  Reach out to our Intake Specialists at 415.227.0331 or at info@psoasbodywork.com to make an appointment.

The city maintains that we should be able to reopen to everyone by the end of the month if local COVID indicators remain stable or (hopefully) improve. This will kick off our official “Phase 1” of reopening. The phased process of reopening will span 2-3 months to allow for us to ramp back up while measuring our processes, people’s readiness to work and be worked on, and this new landscape.

We’re committed to reopening in a way that keeps everyone safe and healthy. We’re implementing containment and prevention protocols at the clinic that exceed industry standards. Check out our Health + Safety Plan for more details.

Current Clinic Offerings:

MD-Prescribed Massage + Bodywork:

David, KC, Jason and Derek are helping clients with medical issues with on-site massage + bodywork on Tuesday, Thursdays, and Fridays.

On-site Chiropractic Care:

Medically essential chiropractic care is available for clients twice a week with Dr. Katherine McCarty. Appointments are available Tuesdays + Thursdays from 9:15 am to 3:00 pm.

Remote Support Options/Tele-bodywork:

Jason and Derek are available for those in need of ongoing bodywork during this time.  Telebodywork sessions are integrative and may include any of the following approaches and modalities: movement assessment, pain management, stretching, education in self-massage, Pilates, range of movement work, as well as other stress-reduction techniques.  Our remote-bodywork team includes:

30-minute sessions ($75): Psoas Senior Therapist, Jason Garcia

  • Available:  Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday
  • For those who don’t know Jason, he’s an author, massage professor, and has decades of extensive training and experience, including certifications in PDT-R and Feldenkrais. Jason is offering $75 sessions — for assistance in pain management, movement assessment, stretching, and education in self-massage.

60-minute sessions ($120): Sports Therapist and Pilates Instructor, Derek Lozupone

  • Available: Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday
  • Derek draws from years of experience — from studying at the Swedish Institute of New York to being a therapist for the Aids/LifeCycle tour and being a competitive swimmer and tennis player himself. Derek is offering $120 sessions where you’ll have the choice of doing a Pilates strengthening session, or the two of you can specifically design the session to incorporate many other elements — such as yoga, breath-work, self-massage, and range of movement assessments, to name a few.

Entering the building during Shelter-in-Place:

Please enter the building at the corner of 3rd and Folsom street. Walk up the stairs alongside the fountain. Make your first possible right through some glass doors, and you’ll find us just down the hall from the leasing office. If the doors are locked, please call the clinic at 415-227-0331 and someone will let you in.

  • The main entrance on 3rd street is locked and the call box is out of service.
  • If you are driving, the parking garage on St. Francis Place is still available for up to 2 hours of validated parking. Once you exit the garage, it is only accessible from the inside of the building, please call if you have any questions.

If you’ve been wondering how to create the ideal therapeutic routine for yourself until we reopen, please reach out at 415.227.0331 or by emailing us at info@psoasbodywork.com to schedule an appointment. Our admin team is still working limited hours right now, so our apologies in advance for any delays, but we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
