Quick Tip: Strengthening the Neck

Posted by on Oct 29, 2014 in Exercises

The muscles in the neck are often overlooked when we think about strong muscles, but the neck is responsible for carrying around our 10lb. head all day, which can be tiring for neck muscles that are weak or atrophied from inactivity, computer work, etc. Keeping the neck muscles strong can prevent tension headaches and improve posture.

In this week’s Quick Tip, Psoas therapist Ryan Saldivar is here to show you a few easy neck exercises to keep your neck strong and ready to take on your day.

These exercises can benefit pretty much everyone. There are so many muscles in the neck that support the head, cervical spine, and spinal cord, and keeping them in shape is important to our overall health.

Note: If you feel any pain during the exercise, discontinue until checking with a professional.
