Do you know the benefits of prenatal massage + core work?

At Psoas, we have a variety of clinical tools to support soon-to-be mothers—from massage therapy, to neurologically-based bodywork, to chiropractic. Many of our prenatal and postpartum clients also ask for advice about healthy and safe exercise. So we’re excited to share special resources from our amazing partner, Holly Furgason at Blue Sparrow Pilates.

We’ve been partnering with Blue Sparrow and sharing clients for many years. Along with a variety of classes, they offer great prenatal and postpartum instruction. And now, they’re releasing a Fit Pregnancy app to teach students appropriate core work for each trimester!

To share Psoas’ prenatal approach with her clients, Holly recently interviewed our senior prenatal massage therapist, Jason Garcia. She also put together a great Q & A on core work for soon-to-be-mothers. Check out their Q & A’s below, and feel free to reach out to our Intake Specialists if you have questions about how we can support your pregnancy, or the pregnancy of a loved one.

Q & A with Psoas Therapist Jason Garcia

“An athlete who pushes their body needs massage all the time; it’s the same with pregnant women. The question is: how much work is needed to help this particular mother feel supported through the changes of pregnancy?” Check out more perspectives on prenatal bodywork from Jason here.
