Keeping our Community Healthy

We’re open!  You can find out our current offerings on our Available Appointments page.

In order to protect our Psoas community against viral infections such as COVID-19, we’ve changed the way we do things! Before your next visit, please take a few minutes to review our updated Health + Safety Guidelines. If you have any questions, reach out to us at or call our front desk.

We ask that our clients comply with all local and state regulations pertaining to COVID-19.

Monitoring yourself for symptoms:

Before and after your visit, monitor yourself and your household members for COVID-19 symptoms. If you or someone you live with present any flu like symptoms or may be at risk for having contracted COVID-19, you must stay home and consult your medical provider.

If you begin to experience symptoms within 10 days of your visit, please let us know. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. If you have been confirmed or suspected to have COVID-19, we ask that you are symptom free for 10 days before returning to the clinic. COVID-19 is associated with the following symptoms:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

Preparing for your arrival:

  1. Our client records are going digital!
    • Once your appointment is scheduled new and returning clients will receive two separate but identical emails with forms for completion: 1) Intake Form 2) COVID-19 Safety Agreement. Please complete both forms and submit them electronically before arriving at the clinic.
    • If you forget to submit your intake form and agreement, you may be asked to step outside to complete them, as seating in the clinic is limited.
  2. Please arrive a few minutes ahead of your scheduled appointment time so we can complete your health screening. We’ll take your temperature and ask you a few questions to ensure you’re feeling well enough to receive bodywork.
  3. We’ve reserved the seating in the reception area for elderly and pregnant folxs as well as our clients with disabilities. After your health screening, please wait outside of the clinic or in your car. We’ll send you a text message once your practitioner is ready to start your session.
  4. Guests of clients are to wait outside of the building wearing a mask, or in their car. Yerba Buena Park is right down the street and a peaceful area to hang out in!

While at the clinic and during massage:

  1. Clients must wear a face covering over their nose and mouth at all times while in the clinic, including during treatment. If you are wearing a non-approved face covering, we will ask you to wear a surgical mask.
  2. Before entering the clinic, clients will undergo a health screening to check for symptoms of COVID-19.
    • Any person who has a temperature over 100℉ or other symptoms or anyone who has been in close proximity to someone with known or suspected COVID-19 will be asked to go home and seek medical advice. We’ll reach out to follow up in a few days to see how you’re doing.
  3. Except while you’re in session with your therapist, we ask that you maintain at least 6 feet between yourself and others in the clinic.
  4. Please sanitize your hands immediately upon entrance to the clinic, as well as before entering and after exiting the treatment room. We ask you to be prompt in dressing and leaving once the session is complete so that therapists can properly change sheets and disinfect the room.
  5. Intra-oral and facial massage will not be provided at this time.
  6. Please communicate around temperature during treatment with your therapist as the use of blankets has been discontinued. Fleece pads and plastic coverings are standard on all tables. Heaters and heating pads are available upon request.
  7. We’ll be verbally greeting you from now on, please limit handshaking, fist bumping, or other non-essential contact with your therapist or others.
  8. At this time, we ask that only employees handle the retail items on our shelves. If you have a question or would like to handle a product before purchase, please let a Front Desk Specialist know and they will assist you. Samples and testers have been removed for your safety.

Closing out your appointment and scheduling your next session:

  1. Sessions will be closed out using your card on file, or another preferred payment method, at the end of your session. Tips or cash gratuity can be added at this time.
  2. Prepaid packages streamline the check-out process and save you 10% on each session. Ask a Front Desk Specialist for more information.
  3. Appointments are even more limited than before and practitioners’ schedules fill up quickly in advance. We recommend scheduling out a series of appointments to ensure treatment. Appointments may be made at the front desk, but due to physical distancing recommendations, scheduling by phone or email is preferred.
    • Monitor symptoms and cancel prior to the 24 hour window, to not be responsible for the session fee.
  4. Ask a Front Desk Specialist to join your therapist’s waitlist if you are unable to schedule your preferred date and time for a session.

Updates to Psoas Health and Safety Guidelines:

  5. Disinfecting all surfaces and door handles between clients per CDC guidelines while using environmentally and EPA approved disinfectants.
