Quick Tip: AIS Psoas Stretch

Posted by on Sep 17, 2014 in Stretches

We have shown you a couple different ways to stretch the psoas, and this week we bring you a video that shows you how to do an Activated Isolated Stretch with the psoas muscle. The psoas is an extremely important muscle and is used in almost every movement you do throughout the day. It’s so important, we named our business after it! So try it out; it will help you feel taller, straighter, and looser in the hips and lower back.

Who needs this exercise? You. Me. Everyone. This is truly one of the most
universally effective stretches. If you fit into one of these categories, give it a try:

  • Desk workers
  • Athletes
  • Low Back pain sufferers
  • Involved in Core training
  • People who stand a lot
  • People who pick up heavy things

And please let us know how it works for you.

Please watch the Explaining Active Isolated Stretching video before doing this stretch to understand the principles of AIS.

Note If you feel excess pain during the stretch, discontinue until checking with a professional.
