Sometimes such simple movements can help us move and feel better. This week’s Quick Tip from the archive is one of those — a brief shoulder shrug exercise that can improve our alignment and reduce pain. And it’s so easy, you’ll be able to find time for it even at your busiest!

For many of us, from desk workers to cyclists, our shoulders creep progressively upwards throughout the day. Over time, this pattern of raised shoulders can cause neck, shoulder and back discomfort — among other things. But practicing this simple shoulder shrug, along with some directed breath, can help your body find its way back towards neutral. So try it out once a day for a week, and let us know what you notice!
