Quick Tip: Around the World Stretch

Feeling adventurous? Spring and summer are right around the corner, and you know what that means. Hiking, swimming, biking, roller blading, and all the other great activities that awesome weather provokes, are coming soon! Psoas wants to help you make sure you’re limber and ready for all the fun. You can start by doing the Around the World in 5 minutes stretches, and see how you feel. We think you’ll feel great!

This stretch is not for people experiencing sharp pain or those who have back or hip injuries. This is for those who have tight or achy backs and hips. If you are experiencing sever sharp pains please call us to set an appointment with one of our specialists.

If you feel sharp pain while doing this exercise, stop and consult an expert.

Basic instruction:
This is a simple stretch only made somewhat complicated because you will be doing the stretch in 7 different directions.

  •     Remember to breathe
  •     Go slowly
  •     Hold each stretch for no more than 1 second
  •     repeat each stretch 8-12 times
  •     stop the stretch before pain
  •     move further each time – again stop before pain
  •     always help the stretch by using your muscles to pull you deeper into the stretch
  •     switch your legs either directly before or after the stretch that goes directly forward
  •     enjoy
