Quick Tip: Have you done a scorpion in the snow?

In part two of our snowboard/ski series, we're reminding you to stretch before your day on the slopes! We know it's easy to forget. You've packed your therapeutic props, you're focused on hanging out with friends and family, and maybe you're buzzed from that one beer in the altitude. But taking five minutes to go through the four dynamic stretches in the playlist below will help you make the best of your mountain time.

Dynamic stretches are meant to mimic the activity you're about to perform. They increase blood and oxygen to muscles all over the body, and increase your flexibility and muscle contraction (reaction) time. All this is even more important in the cold. Plus, these stretches are fun to do in the snow…especially the scorpion! Try the whole routine before your first day on the slopes, and again after lunch to prep for those final afternoon runs. Let us know how it goes. And, in the coming weeks, keep an eye out for some static recovery stretches and partner stretching.
