Quick Tip: How’s your alignment in plank pose?

If your Psoas therapist has ever recommended stretches or exercises to address tension in the back, you know that a strong core is essential. While there are many ways to safely strengthen the core, plank pose is an awesome option. This popular yoga position can help you develop strength and stability in the back, but it can also be tricky to set up with proper alignment.

In this week’s Quick Tip, Psoas therapist Luke Karamol demonstrates how to get into plank pose safely and functionally. Do keep in mind that while plank pose is great for many clients, we don’t recommend it if you’re dealing with acute back pain. If you have any questions about this, feel free to reach out and speak to an intake specialist! And if you want more instruction from Luke about how to use proper alignment and breath to help you meet your health goals, check-out his donation-based Hatha yoga class at Psoas — every other Monday at 4:30pm.
