SARAH DAY (SHE/HER)

Since 2003 Sarah has been facilitating the balance, awareness, and ease of clients through hands-on bodywork and movement education. Sarah’s sessions are tailored as collaboration towards each clients optimal desired potential. She compassionately integrates structurally oriented Deep Tissue massage, functional alignment balancing, and Myofascial Release with Swedish massage and subtler modalities.

MORE ABOUT SARAH...

Her bodywork emphasizes a respect for natural biomechanical design and encourages an approach of loving-kindness for one’s body. Sarah also offers Lymphatic Drainage work, as well as caring Pre & Postnatal massage. Having studied with an array of wonderful faculty at the Monterey Institute of Touch in Carmel Valley, she continued her training at Twin Lakes College of the Healing Arts, took clinical anatomy courses, and invested many years in studying biomechanics for dancers. She spent the first years of her massage practice teamed up with a PT and chiropractor, experience that provided a basis for addressing specific issues such as carpal tunnel, tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, tension headaches, structural imbalances, and working with myofascial restrictions from both patterns of use and from scar tissue.

A Certified Axis Syllabus Teacher, Sarah brings to her work a background in dance and movement arts, many years of experience that deeply inform her approach to bodywork. Her first hand understanding of the body in motion has been an asset in caring for clients, whether they be athletes or individuals looking to feel more at home in their body. Gleaned from this training, some of the elements that inform Sarah’s approach in massage sessions include:  functional alignment principles, healthy joint parameters, training the body for multi-planar activity, the mechanics of weight distribution, and the ways in which the body generates and harnesses kinetic potential for dynamic situations.

Sarah would love to assist you towards your personal wellness goals, whether addressing chronic, acute, or repetitive stress pain conditions, expanding your movement capabilities to deepen into your particular embodied practice, or simply creating space for the innate wisdom of your body to flourish.
