A large number of athletes (competitive and weekend warriors) incorporate Sports Massage into their regimen. The benefits of Sports Massage include improved circulation, flexibility and range of motion, decreased recovery time from competition and training, injury prevention, increased muscular efficiency and the increased physical awareness that comes with anatomical and functional education.

Efficient circulation is particularly important because it ensures the delivery of essential nutrients and oxygen to musculoskeletal tissue, increasing physical productivity and removal of metabolic waste. By breaking up scar tissue and adhesions, sports massage can release muscles and tendons from inefficiency, freeing them to glide in the way they were designed. The skilled hands-on assessment of a Psoas massage therapist can detect minor imbalances at an early stage. Once identified, our therapists can help prevent these imbalances from developing into strains, sprains, or tears.

At Psoas, we provide Sports Massage at local events for the competitive athlete, which enhances immediate competitive output and recovery. Most of our athletes, however, come to our clinic for regular maintenance sessions, which are most effective when performed regularly through the competitive season and training.
