Acerca de
Thai massage is a bodywork modality that combines aspects of acupressure, Shiatsu, and assisted yoga poses to release muscle tension, increase range of motion, and improve joint function. Clients remain clothed during a Thai massage session which is performed on a mat on the floor instead of a massage table; pressure can range from light to deep.
Our approach to Thai massage is gentle and supportive while being firm and present. Our practitioner will use their feet, knees, and legs in addition to their arms and hands to position the clients body and apply rhythmic pressure and joint mobilization from multiple contact points.
Thai massage sessions can be 30, 60, or 90 minutes long, or Thai massage techniques can be incorporated into a mixed modality session, including deep tissue massage and movement instruction, as an efficient way to warm up and assess tissue before more specific treatment.
Thai sessions are intended to be relaxing and restorative, and can be an effective treatment on their own or as part of a treatment plan to holistically integrate detailed work from an ART, NKT, or deep tissue session. They’re ideal for any client looking to address specific issues like chronic low back pain, but are also very well suited for athletes whose sport relies heavily on the lower extremities, like runners and cyclists.
